Care Instructions: Glass is sensitive to temperature changes, so please avoid sudden cooling or heating. Do not use in microwave ovens, ovens, dishwashers, or dish dryers. When washing, use dish soap and gently rub with a soft sponge or cloth. Rubbing too hard with a metal scouring pad will scratch and easily break the glass.
The rim of the glass is adorned with a four-leaf clover motif. The four-leaf clover is considered a symbol of good fortune, love, sincerity, and hope, and is believed to be very auspicious. The clothing patterns that were popular from the Kanbun to Genroku periods are called "Genroku patterns," and representative examples include large, ornate patterns such as cobblestones, Benkei stripes, checks, interlocking rings, dappled patterns, scale patterns, and mallet wheels. This piece uses the "cobblestone pattern" and is finished in a gorgeous style that evokes the culture of the Genroku period.
Edo Kiriko glasswork originated in the Edo period and has been designated as a traditional Japanese craft, a valuable craft that conveys the lifestyle of Edo to the present day. All pieces are handcrafted one by one by skilled artisans.
