Features: This fine-grit whetstone can remove scratches left by medium-grit whetstones and is often used for Japanese knives (such as yanagiba knives) where a delicate sharpness is required. As it is a fine-grit finishing whetstone, it can produce a beautiful shine. If used after a medium-grit whetstone, the difference in grit size is large and it will take time, so using a #2000-#3000 whetstone in between will allow for a much cleaner and faster finish. This is a versatile whetstone that can be used with any type of knife. It comes with a base for stable use. Note: It can be used immediately by simply adding water. Because it is hardened at a low temperature, the abrasive and binder are still active. Therefore, it will deteriorate if left for a long period of time (several years to more than ten years) or if left submerged in water. Also, if you leave the knife unattended while sharpening, it may rust, so please rinse it with water and wipe it dry after sharpening. Always keep the blade surface level.
