A fast-growing annual plant, much appreciated for its generous, delicate foliage and its pretty autumnal colors, kochia is easy to grow and maintain.

Its dried seeds can be eaten as a garnish called “tonburi”. A delicacy in Japan, their texture is said to be similar to caviar.

Its seeds are also used in natural medicine.. It is also used to control soil erosion, in phytoremediation.. and as a decorative plant.

Plant from 40 to 130 cm with green, lanceolate leaves which at the end of summer acquire orange, red, purple tones. Grows very well in pots.
