[Kiwi Acoustic Resonance System (KARS)] KARS is not a gimmick - it's a discrete bandpass filter that manipulates airflow to the driver and adjusts low frequency output. This patented innovation features an intricate labyrinth-like tube network designed based on multiple scientific and physical models to perfectly calculate the right resonance points for Singolo's drivers. KARS allows for tight sub-bass shelves not previously possible with single-driver IEMs. The quality, quantity and texture of the bass is unparalleled compared to other tuning strategies used in similar driver formats. Unlike traditional crossover networks that use traditional multiple drivers and RC (resistor-capacitor) networks, KARS uses Helmholtz resonance for tuning. Air flow to the dynamic driver adjusts how responsive the diaphragm can be, but additional calculations for flow rate, direction, and volume are also required. KARS allows you to precisely adjust this airflow to manipulate the sound the way you want. Capacitors and resistors provide a calculated means of crossover solution, but if cheap SMD components are used they can add unwanted artifacts to the sound in the form of distortion. To take full advantage of the KARS system, Singolo is equipped with a custom Japanese-made Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) diaphragm driver. This 11mm dynamic driver is custom built for the KARS format and features unique front and rear acoustic chamber profiles. LCP was chosen as the diaphragm material. The reason for this is its crisp and natural tonal characteristics. Harder metal-based diaphragms have a metallic tinge to their sound quality, while plastic-based diaphragms tend to sound dull. LCP provides the perfect balance between stiffness and natural timbre for sharp transient response. By implementing KARS, this driver is precisely tuned using purely acoustic dynamics. This means that the sound you hear comes purely from the driver. Singolo is tuned according to Clinacle's tonal signature. This is an integration of the best tuning profiles found in the world's most successful earphones of the past. Featuring an 8dB sub-bass shelf, the bass is very strong and powerful, yet cuts cleanly at 300Hz. This creates a neutral midrange, allowing the natural sounds of vocals and instruments to be clearly expressed without any artificial bloat or muddiness. The treble pursues a perfect ear curve, with a clean 3kHz peak and natural decay to the upper treble. With singolo, a perfectly natural sound signature is important. In other words, it's a subwoofer without a subwoofer.
