Afterwards, the long-established glass manufacturer moved to its current location (Kinshi, Sumida-ku, Tokyo) and began manufacturing glass tableware and craft glass. In 1958, the company name was changed to “ Shotoku Glass Co., Ltd., and utilized the know-how cultivated in light bulb glass to bring ``Usuhari Glass'' to the world. The word ``Hari'' in ``Usuhari'' refers to glass, and its outstanding craftsmanship has made it possible to achieve the extremely thin thickness of 0.9 mm, which is less than half the thickness of a regular glass.The manufacturing method used to produce this thin glass has been designated as a traditional craft by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as ``Edo Glass.''
