Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Hamilton, Pennsylvania, USA. Its first pocket watch, the Broadway Limited, gained fame as a reliable tool for telling train times. In 1914, it became a supplier to the US Air Force and began services for ski racing timing and the United States Postal Service in 1919. Throughout the 1930s, it was the official watch for various airlines, and during World War II in 1947, it paused civilian sales to produce nearly a million military timepieces. In 1970, it launched the world's first digital watch, the Pulsure, and was acquired by the SSIH group in 1977, which later became part of the Swatch Group in 1983.
