Kit Kemp, the designer, is an interior designer and co-owner and design director of Firmdale Hotels, which owns several design hotels in London and New York. She's renowned for her unique and colorful use of fabrics. In 2020, her "Sailor's Farewell" collection arrived in Japan. The Sailor's Farewell design features a woman in a dress waving a red scarf on a rocky outcrop, seemingly waving to her sailor lover as he sets off on his voyage. The lover is about to embark on a grand adventure, passing by lighthouses and palm-lined islands, occasionally diving into the ocean in a diving suit and encountering marine life like octopuses and whales.
