This leather is made from cowhide from Hokkaido, dyed and processed at Kaname, a dyeing and processing factory in Sumida Ward. Using thick, vegetable-tanned beef steer leather as a base, the leather is hand-applied with Kaname's original oil, a blend of cod oil and imported beef tallow, blended using traditional methods. The artisans finely adjust the oil concentration according to the seasons in Japan, resulting in an exquisite finish. The surface is simply finished with dye, resulting in a "nurturing leather" that will age beautifully as the color deepens with use. While it may be a little stiff at first, it will gradually soften and become more comfortable with use. [Aftercare] Simply wiping with a soft cloth will maintain its beautiful condition. Please note that excessive application of cream or oil may damage the leather's appearance.
