A designer who visited the area in the 18th century encountered Japanese Imari ware, which was difficult to obtain in the West at the time. The designer was delighted to discover the Oriental charm of Imari ware, and inspired his design. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in color, pattern, shape, size, and capacity may occur.
