It has also been found to play an important role in maintaining bone strength. Vitamin K2 includes the two most studied subforms: MK-7 (menaquinone-7) and MK-4 (menatethrenone). MK-7, the most rapidly absorbed and bioactive form of K2, cannot be obtained from the regular diet.
