This is an early production version of the Mitsubishi A62, featuring exhaust manifolds under the cowling, a design characteristic of the A62.
The fuselage and wings are green, the cowling and landing gear are black, and the engine and propeller are gray. Each runner is molded in a different color.
Includes water-transfer decals for markings for three aircraft: the 253rd Naval Air Group in Rabaul, the 253rd Air Group in Rabaul, and the 252nd Air Group that served in the Marshall Islands.
Fine Molds 1/72 Imperial Japanese Navy Zero Fighter Type 52 (Mitsubishi, Early Model) Plastic Model FR01. Following the 1/48 scale "Zero Fighter" that received rave reviews both domestically and internationally, we are releasing a series of 1/72 scale Zero Fighter kits. The first release is an early production version of the Mitsubishi Model 52, featuring a manifold exhaust pipe beneath the cowling, a design characteristic of the Model 22. Each runner is molded in a different color, with the fuselage and wings in green, the cowling and landing gear in black, and the engine and propeller in gray. This kit includes three water-transfer decals depicting the aircraft flown by Japanese Navy ace Tetsuzo Iwamoto, belonging to the 253rd Naval Air Group in Rabaul, whose rear fuselage is said to be covered in kill marks. It also includes a model from the 253rd Air Group in Rabaul and another from the 252nd Air Group, which served in the Marshall Islands. This product is a plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting. Additional adhesives, tools, and paints are required for assembly and painting.
