In addition to vitamin E, the oil also contains ceramides, lecithin, and unsaturated fatty acids. Ceramides delay the natural aging process of the skin, while lecithin and fatty acids maintain the skin's current condition and proper hydration. The oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling, and soothing properties (although the latter are not as strong as those of, for example, andiroba oil).
