These headphones push the boundaries of open-type design, controlling airflow and reproducing the original sound solely through diaphragm movement: Closed-type and semi-open headphones create sound by utilizing housing resonance to enhance bass. On the other hand, this product, which embodies "true open-air audio," does not enhance bass with the housing, so there is no resonance, and the sound reproduced by the driver can be delivered directly to the ear. A unique driver design that allows control of the airflow generated from the driver while the front and back of the housing are open realizes a pure and realistic sound field. Covering a frequency range from 5 to 40,000 Hz: In today's studios and stages, where various output formats exist, engineers need reliable reference headphones that can be in any studio or work environment. The "R" series covers the frequency range required in the field. Newly designed headband and head pad for comfort during long work sessions: The robust metal headband construction and new head pad combine simplicity and strength, providing comfortable use even during extended work sessions. The headband has been improved from the previous model with an updated slider mechanism for a better fit. This also allows for adjustment of the head pad. Unrestricted driver performance for natural and accurate audio production: The sound of open-back headphones is strongly influenced by the performance of the drivers, where the movement of the diaphragm is directly converted into sound. The ATH-R70xa is built for critical monitoring, allowing engineers to make the right decisions at every step of the production process. Equipped with a φ45mm large-diameter driver specially designed for the "R70x" series, which reproduces the entire frequency range with high purity: Inheriting the specially designed driver from the previous model "ATH-R70x," improvements have been made, including a review of the manufacturing process, to enhance sound accuracy. This enables even more realistic sound field expression and reproduces accurate and natural sound.
