Applying metal polishing techniques cultivated at an automotive parts manufacturer in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, the polishing techniques performed by skilled craftsmen by hand boast an accuracy of 0.1 microns. "BIRDY. by Erik Lorincz" is a line of cocktail tools created in collaboration with Erik Lorincz, the 10th head bartender of the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in the UK, which boasts a 125-year history, and the 2010 Diageo World Class Champion. In pursuit of functionality that surpasses conventional wisdom, and condensed into an ultimately simple form, the Boston-style shaker "Double Tin Shaker" was completed after approximately four years of trial and error development with Eric Lorintz. By polishing the ice cubes vertically to match the shaking motion, and leaving irregularities at a 0.1-micron level, it cools faster, mixes more effectively, and creates finer bubbles for a richer flavor.
