The latest in the COMPLETE DVD BOOK series: This budget-priced DVD BOOK series of this historical romance anime masterpiece, captivating women all over Japan, has been released for five consecutive months to great acclaim! Volume 3, featuring the episode about the necklace incident, which holds the key to the story, is already scheduled for release on December 16, 2021!
Following "Ashita no Joe," "Treasure Island," "Gamba no Bouken," "Space Cobra," "Aim for the Ace!", and "Homeless Child," the "COMPLETE DVD BOOK" series, which includes all 40 episodes of the TV anime "The Rose of Versailles," directed by the same director, Osamu Dezaki, will begin publishing monthly from October 21, 2021 (Dezaki became chief director from episode 19). This work was produced in 1979 as an anime adaptation of the popular manga by Riyoko Ikeda. Set in Versailles before and after the French Revolution, this story depicts the dramatic lives of the cross-dressing beauty Oscar and Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, and is known to have a loyal fan base to this day. In volume 3, one of France's biggest fraud cases, the Necklace Scandal, finally breaks out. How will this brutal case unfold? Each DVD volume contains 8 episodes, running for approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes, and the collector's edition booklet includes story explanations and checkpoints for each episode.
