This is a fossilised ammonite (Cleoniceras sp.) that has been polished down to a layer where the ‘suture pattern’—a form of art created by nature without human intervention—can be clearly seen. Fossils that have been replaced by calcite or aragonite (minerals) allow light to pass through them easily. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind item, and we will dispatch the specific specimen you have selected. *You can see how light passes through the ammonite in the video in the photo gallery.

[Regarding Product Images]
Slight variations in colour tones may occur due to differences between the shooting environment (light intensity, colour temperature, etc.) and the customer’s viewing environment, as well as differences in computer settings.
Furthermore, as photographs are taken in a brighter environment than usual, colour tones and iridescence may appear more vivid. In particular, when photographing iridescence, we also adjust the angle of the light.
Certain minerals, such as fluorescent minerals and microscopic minerals, are photographed using specialised environments and equipment.
[About the Products]
