18th century France. Born into a family of military officers who protected the royal family, Oscar François was raised as a male guard because her father, General Jarjayes, had no sons. France eventually welcomed Marie-Antoinette, the youngest daughter of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, as Crown Princess. Oscar grew up to become the captain of Queen Antoinette's guard and repelled the sinister forces within the court plotting her downfall. Meanwhile, forced into a political marriage at a young age, Antoinette falls in pure and passionate love for the first time with Fersen, a young Swedish aristocrat. Repeated separations and reunions strengthen their forbidden love, but Oscar also harbors feelings for Fersen. And seeing Oscar like this, her childhood friend Andre felt an even greater ache in his heart...
