Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, as a watch company. The first pocket watch developed, the 'Broadway Limited', earned renown as a tool indicating accurate railroad timings. In 1914, it was selected as a supplier for the United States Air Force and provided timing services for ski competitions in 1919. By 1930, it had become the official clock of many airlines. During World War II, Hamilton paused civilian sales and produced nearly one million military watches. In 1970, it introduced the world’s first digital watch, the 'Pulsar', and was acquired by the Omega-Tissot-Lanco Group in 1977. In 1983, it became part of the Swatch Group and continues to maintain a prominent brand presence.
