Pit-Road 1/144 Skywave Series JMSDF P-1 Patrol Aircraft Plastic Model SN31 Aircraft Description: The P-1 patrol aircraft was developed as a successor to the P-3C propeller-driven anti-submarine patrol aircraft and made its first flight in September 2007. It features the world's first operational fly-by-light control system, providing electromagnetic interference protection, as well as newly developed acoustic and radar systems for improved anti-submarine and suspicious vessel search and detection capabilities. The JMSDF began operating the aircraft in 2013 and is currently deployed at Atsugi Air Base in Kanagawa Prefecture and Kanoya Air Base in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is also used by the 203rd Training Squadron at Shimousa Air Base in Chiba Prefecture to train fixed-wing aircraft pilots and flight crew.
