Yogaworks Pilates Mat, 12mm (Mint)

This 12mm thick mat features a marshmallow-soft texture, making it perfect for Pilates and home yoga! Its soft, fluffy texture provides firm support. The surface is smooth and grippy, while the back is wavy to prevent wrinkles when rolled up for storage. This mat was developed to absorb body weight and reduce strain during static and rolling poses in mat Pilates. It's also ideal for floor stretches, such as abdominal and back exercises, as well as yoga that focuses on seated and reclining poses. ● 12mm was the cushioning needed for mat Pilates. For comfortable support, a thickness of around 10mm was required. Yoga Works' previous Pilates mats were made of 6mm thick PVC. A 10mm thick mat would have weighed over 3kg and become unwieldy. Therefore, we've created a new Pilates mat made of NBR (nitrile rubber). It's 12mm thick, providing even more cushioning. Its soft and supple feel makes it ideal for mat Pilates and other floor exercises. While 10mm mats are not uncommon overseas, some are around 70cm wide, which requires more space than others for Japanese classes, so be careful. Another key point is that it's the same width as a standard yoga mat, 61cm. ●Pilates mat solves the wrinkle problem. While NBR material is soft and comfortable, its delicate surface can easily wrinkle when rolled up. This 12mm Pilates mat features a wavy design on the back to prevent wrinkles when rolled up. The product design prevents wrinkles on the back even when rolled up. ●NBR is a material that is prone to discoloration due to direct sunlight and fluorescent light. We recommend storing the product in a place away from direct sunlight, strong fluorescent light, and high temperatures and humidity. NBR is a material called nitrile rubber. If you have any allergies, we recommend avoiding use or consulting a specialist. This product does not contain DEHP, which may be harmful to your health. Please also read the package for other precautions before use. Please also refer to the product care instructions. ●When setting down the mat, you may feel a slight slippery sensation on your hands. (This can be like applying hand cream.) This is caused by the drying of the material and a coating that prevents the material from sticking together. The slippery feeling will gradually disappear with use, but if it bothers you, we recommend wiping the surface of the mat with a tightly wrung-out towel or rag before setting it down, then wiping it dry and lightly drying it in the shade.
