[Pueblo] This product is made using the "Vacchetta" method by Badalassi Carlo, a classic vegetable tanning method recognized by the Italian Vegetable Tanning Association. Badalassi Carlo is a renowned tannery whose predecessor, a pioneer of the ancient Italian Vacchetta method, revitalized the method. Its roots date back to the Middle Ages, with some saying it began around the 8th century. While many modern leathers use synthetic and fish oils and are increasingly mechanized in the pursuit of efficiency, Badalassi remains true to traditional leathermaking, seemingly bucking the times. The leather is tanned over a long period of time using only vegetable tannins, instead of chemicals, and then slowly oiled with highly pure "cow leg oil" extracted by boiling the shin bones and hoofless feet of cattle. Because the oil does not penetrate easily, this is a time-consuming, laborious, and costly process, but on the flip side, the oil does not easily come out, and the color and luster improve beautifully with use, aging beautifully.
