The Yamaha CLR25 is a synthetic reed for Bb clarinet at strength 2 1/2, designed to be easy to play right out of the package with no soaking or breaking-in required. Made from a Yamaha-developed formula based on natural fibrous cane, it offers a tone, look, and feel close to a traditional cane reed, with an original shape featuring a stronger central rib for balanced playability across the instrument's range. A special heat-treating process helps produce a deep tone and smooth sound production.
Built for durability, Yamaha synthetic reeds have been tested for over 320 hours of playing time (roughly 8 months of typical use) with no detectable change in stiffness or shape, meaning fewer reed replacements over time. They contain no toxic substances and can be cleaned with soap and water or disinfected with mouthpiece cleaner or rubbing alcohol. The reed strength is laser-engraved on the back so it won't fade, and the Yamaha logo is engraved on the inner surface to confirm authenticity. The water-resistant packaging can double as a reed case.
Strength 2 1/2 offers slightly firmer resistance than strength 2, suiting players progressing past a beginner embouchure who want a bit more control and tonal richness. This listing is for one reed.
